Welcome to Module 3! In this lesson, we meet the three most powerful helping verbs in the entire English language: To Be, To Do, and To Have. We call them the Big Three Command Centers because almost every complex sentence relies on one of them.

1. The “To Be” Continuous Helper

- is (Helper): Tells us the action is continuous and happening right now.
- testing (Main): The actual physical work being done.
2. The “To Do” Question Opener
“Do you need access to the company database?”
- Do (Helper): Opens the question structure cleanly.
- need (Main): The mental requirement or state.
3. The “To Have” Perfect Helper
“She has submitted all required tax documents.”
- has (Helper): Shows that the past action is connected to the present moment.
- submitted (Main): The action of handing over documents.
🚫 Common Mistakes: Correct vs. Incorrect
1. Mixing “Be” and “Do” in Questions
❌ Incorrect: “Are you want to learn programming?”
✅ Correct: “Do you want to learn programming?”
Why it’s wrong: Use Do/Does for questions with main action verbs. Use Am/Is/Are only when the main verb uses -ing.
2. Double Past Helpers
❌ Incorrect: “Did you finished the assignment yesterday?”
✅ Correct: “Did you finish the assignment yesterday?”
Why it’s wrong: The helper Did already shows past tense. The main verb must stay in its base form (finish).
